Swimming is proven to reduce anxiety and stress levels, lower the risk of heart disease, improve sleep and is low impact on your joints. Its great exercise too. But what if you can’t swim?

Swimfit Midlothian is the only Adult Swim School in the Lothians. Based in Dalkeith, I offer

Whatever your current swimming level or reason for joining, I will develop your confidence, strength, stamina and fitness through professional coaching and a commitment to supporting you in achieving your goals.

Swimfit:

Monday & Thursday at 8.30pm, Wednesdays at 7.30pm

60 minute Fitness class

Ability: Able to swim 100m in all of the 3 main strokes.

Focus: A great workout to really increase swimmers fitness. You will be amazed how quickly you begin increasing your swimming distance and how much your stroke will progress. Building strength and stamina, these sessions are friendly, positive and encouraging. 

Membership:    £40 per month (1 session per week) / £56 per month (up to 3 sessions per week)

Stroke Development:

Wednesday 7.30pm, Thursday 8.30pm

60 min coaching session.

Ability: Able to swim 50m in all of the 3 main strokes.

Focus: 8 week technique macrocycle on a rotational basis for each stroke ensures your stroke develops to minimise drag and increase movement efficiency.

Membership:    £40 per month (1 session per week) / £56 per month (2 sessions per week)

Improver:

Tuesday 7.30pm

60 min coaching session.

Ability: Able to swim 25m in all of the 3 main strokes.

Focus: 8 week technique macrocycle on a rotational basis for each stroke ensures your stroke develops to minimise drag and increase movement efficiency.

Membership:    £48 per month (1 session per week)

Beginner 2:

Monday 7.30pm, Thursday 8pm,

30 min coaching session

Ability: Able to swim approx. 10- 20 metres in frontcrawl and breaststroke. Technique needs developing

Focus: Smaller classes to enable regular individual feedback along with group demonstration. Coach still works both in the water and on poolside to ensure understanding of technique been demonstrated. Classes work to an 8 week technique macrocycle on a rotational basis for each stroke.

Membership:     £30 per month 30 minute sessions / £48 a month 60 minute session

Beginner:

Wednesday 8.30pm 60 minutes – Mens Only

Thursday 7.30pm 30 minutes

Ability: Comfortable in water and able to place your face in / keen to learn how. Comfortable to lift feet from floor and kick with or without support.

Focus: Building confidence and learning technique foundations. Classes are quick paced to ensure maximum aerobic workout even though travelling short distances. Coach works both in and out the water to support and demonstrate

Membership:    £30 per month 30 minute sessions / £48 a month 60 minute session

Non Swimmer / Aquaphobia

Sundays 7.30pm, 8.10pm, 8.50pm 40 minute session

Mondays 8pm 30 minute session

Tuesday 7.45pm 40 minute session

Ability: Uncomfortable or fear of water. Unable to lift feet from floor or place face in water.

Focus: Becoming comfortable in water and learning the key water safety and foundation skills such as submersion, breathing, floating and regaining standing. Slower paced classes to build confidence and trust.

Membership:     £36 per month 30 minute session / £40 per month 40 minute session
